To coincide with International Women's Day, Beijing Women's Federation hosted an outdoor activity on March 8 to engage passersby and help raise people's spirits through the use of cosmetics.

This event was held as part of the federation's series of themed initiatives to embrace the 19th CPC (Communist Party of China) National Congress and highlight women's contributions across the capital.

At the event, front-line workers including nurses, hotline operators, and domestic service staff learned how to update their looks with the help of professional makeup artists.

The experts gave advice about wearing formal dresses, high heels and lipstick to a fashion-conscious line-up of participants.

Later, attendees learned from the stylists about useful tips on different products and clothes design during an interactive discussion and presentation.
