主讲人简介：
D. S. Prasada Rao is currently a Professor in the School of Economics at the University of Queensland. He is the director of the Centre for Efficiency and Productivity Analysis at the University of Queensland. Professor Rao's research focuses on multilateral index number methods and their applications to international comparisons of real gross domestic product, purchasing power of currencies, and comparisons of output and productivity.
课程简介：
Focusing on the techniques and methods for measuring the real size and the structure of the world economy.
The International Comparison Program (ICP) is a worldwide statistical partnership to collect comparative price data and compile detailed expenditure values of countries' gross domestic products (GDP), and to estimate purchasing power parities (PPPs) of the world's economies. But a large gap still exists between ICP methodology research and the statistical practice. These lectures and seminars will discuss (1) index number methods for temporal and spatial price comparisons; (2) the framework and methodology for ICP; (3) two or three advanced topics on approaches to PPPs and regional and global inflation and growth. In addition, we will also conduct a session for our academic staff discussing strategies on how to publish academic research in leading international peer review journals, especially in the area of economic statistics.
